The Rajendra Bhawan Trust was established on 3 December, 1973 in the memory of the first President of Independent Inida, DESHRATNA Dr. RAJENDRA PRASAD.
The main objects of the Trust are to develop Rajendra Bhawan as a Centre for the study of Gandhian thought as well as the ideas of Rajendra Prasad, the fostering of national unity and promotion of social welfare programmes for the alleviation of the sufferings of the underprivileged sections of our society.

The Rajendra Memorial Library established by the Trust is located on the Second floor of Rajendra Bhawan. At present there are 4758 books in the library (2309 purchased and 2449 gifted). The library is subscribing to 15 periodicals, 13 daily Indian Newspapers. These periodicals and newspapers are kept in the Reading Room of Library.
